Officiating Program

 WHY BECOME A REFEREE?

  • Referees are an important pillar to the Broomball community and the experience of our participants. There is no Broomball without our valued Officials!
  • The shared experiences and teamwork result in a kinship that can be found in few other spheres of life. Officiating creates and sustains friendships that last a lifetime.
  • Fitness! Officiating is hard work and those whose bodies can withstand the physical demands will benefit in multiple ways.
  • Officiating Broomball builds on everyday skills such as making quick decisions, dedication, teamwork, management of people and communication — communicating effectively in a quick way. Those skills carry on beyond the game of Broomball.
  • Officials stay engaged and a part of the game they once played. The connection lasts well beyond their playing careers.
